History
This breed originated in the second half of the 20th century when the French National Stud conducted a breeding programme, crossing the beautiful Arabian horses with the strong and robust Boulonnais for the purpose of creating a fast and alert riding horse.
The Araboulonnais appears to be more refined in comparison to the Boulonnais as well as of a larger and heavier stature than the Arabian breeds. Being used for riding and trekking, they have emerged as energetic and athletic mounts, also having a hardy nature, resistant to diseases.
